‘Since the early 90s, Matthias Rahn from Frankfurt has guaranteed an exquisite blend of minimalist techno, dub, and ambient. After releasing several albums and EPs on various labels such as Trapez, Konvex-Konkav, Neurotron Music, or Night Drive Music between 2001 and 2017, his debut for Seasides on Postcards was released in 2018 with ‘Paradise is Closed’.
‘The Lost Archives’ is, as the title suggests, a collection of musical jewels that were created between 1998 and 2008 – 5 of them are previously unreleased.
Even though ‘The Lost Archives’ is a compilation, it functions as a very homogeneous, timeless album, the tension of which ranges from pulsating dub techno to breathing ambient passages.
