Marta Mist is a musical collective based around a core of Gavin Miller (also known as worriedaboutsatan) and Sophie Green (ex member of Her Name Is Calla), based in Bradford, UK. Since their formation in 2010, they have released two albums, two EPs, four singles and two compilations on labels such as Time Released Sound, Hibernate, Heat Death Records and This Is It Forever, or self-released.
Eyes Like Pools, Marta Mist’s third full-length album, consists of five compositions with a total duration of something more than 38 minutes. Utilizing layers of haunting violins, delicate guitar swells, airy synth textures, distant piano melodies, hypnotizing drones, deep bass lines, electronic glitches and field recordings, Marta Mist create an atmospheric album that perfectly mixes cinematic ambient and minimal post-rock.
Eyes Like Pools is a wonderful album that will appeal to anyone moved by the music of artists such as A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Eluvium and of course worriedaboutsatan.
